Man charged in Thursday night home invasion where victim was critically stabbed

A West Side man was charged with attempted first-degree murder in a Thursday night home invasion where a victim was critically stabbed in the Sheffield Neighbors neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Devion Deshaun Allen, 25, of the 2700 block of West Augusta Boulevard was charged with attempted murder, home invasion causing injury and aggravated battery use of a deadly weapon, police said.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a home invasion in the 2000 block of North Clifton Avenue where a victim was stabbed multiple times by someone who entered the residence and then fled the scene on foot, police said.

The offender was caught and identified as Allen. He was scheduled to appear at a detention hearing Saturday.
