Three men were wounded early Sunday following a drive-by shooting near the University of Chicago Medical Center on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers responded to a call of several people shot in the 5700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said.
Police said an unknown person in an SUV opened fire on a group of men standing near the corner of 57th and South Cottage Grove in the Washington Park neighborhood.
A 51-year-old man was shot in the nose; a 31-year-old man was shot in the lower right leg; and a 29-year-old man was shot in the right thigh and right calf. No other injuries were reported.
All three men were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and listed in good condition.
Officers on Sunday morning walked around a blue Dodge Charger with multiple bullet holes in its side doors. The car was parked on South Cottage Grove Avenue next to the hospital.
As of Sunday morning, no one was in custody, and detectives from Area One were investigating.
