Riot Fest shuttle service tickets are on sale now

Riot Fest has announced the pickup locations and more details about a planned shuttle service to its festival later this summer in Bridgeview. Shuttle buses will depart from eight locations around Chicago to take fest-goers to SeatGeek Stadium in the near-southwest ‘burbs. Including:

Gman Tavern, 3740 N. Clark St. in Lakeview / Wrigleyville (also an official Riot Fest aftershow venue).

Delilah’s, 2771 N. Lincoln Ave. in Lincoln Park.

Avondale Tap, 3634 W. Belmont Ave. in Avondale / Logan Square.

Concord Music Hall, 2047 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Bucktown (also an aftershow venue)

Cobra Lounge, 235 N. Ashland Ave. in West Town / Fulton Market (also an aftershow venue).

Humboldt Park at the Fritz Reuter Monument, corner of Luis Munoz Marin Drive and N. Humboldt Drive.

Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St. in the Loop.

Novel Pizza Cafe, 1759 W. 19th St. in Pilsen.

The shuttle will run on a limited schedule, with in-bound trips at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Then departures back to the city will begin at 8 p.m. and run more or less at capacity until 45 minutes after the final act leaves the stage.

Gates open at 11 a.m. daily Sept. 20-22. Although the schedule for bands has not yet been announced, in past years in Douglass Park the music has started at noon and run through about 10 p.m.

Passes for the shuttle are on sale now, with round trip passes starting at $30 per day; riders sign up for a specific in-bound trip time though the fest says those who miss their ticketed time will try to be accommodated on next trips. More at riotfest.org/chicago/shuttle

Also, Reggies Chicago (2105 S. State St.) plans its own free shuttle buses to Riot Fest all three days, with departures from the venue on the hour through 6 p.m. all three days; more information at www.reggieslive.com

Riot Fest announced in June that it would move from Douglass Park to the new location on the SeatGeek Stadium campus, a site that has also hosted the annual Summer Smash and other music festivals.

Although SeatGeek Stadium (7000 S. Harlem Ave., Bridgeview) has ample parking ($39 to $49 per car), it is not well-serviced by public transportation, with the closest CTA Orange Line stop at Midway Station at the airport, some five miles and a Pace Bus ride away. Riot Fest has said extended service has been planned.

The 2024 headliners include Beck, Public Enemy, the Marley Brothers and Fall Out Boy, along with Slayer, The Offspring, St. Vincent, Bright Eyes, Rob Zombie, Dr. Dog, Sublime and Pavement.
