Two 16-year-old boys are among four teens charged with aggravated battery of 60-year-old man in a Wednesday armed robbery on the North Side in the Uptown neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 9 p.m., police arrested the group of teens in the 1300 block of West Montrose Avenue after they were identified as the group who moments earlier battered and robbed a man at gunpoint in the 4400 block of North Malden Street, police said.
Two boys, age 16, were charged with felony armed robbery. Omareon Coleman of West Ridge was charged with felony armed robbery, aggravated battery in a public place and aggravated battery to a person 60 and over. Samuel Gaines of Uptown, also 19, was handed the same charges.
Both teenage men were scheduled Friday at a detention hearing.
