Authorities investigating break-in at Cook County state’s attorney’s office

Authorities are investigating a break-in at the administrative offices of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, officials said.

Staff with the state’s attorney’s office contacted the Cook County sheriff’s office on Tuesday to report that several computers were missing at their offices at the main courthouse in the George Leighton Criminal Court Building, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. Police opened an investigation, which is ongoing.

Few details were immediately available Wednesday, but in a statement, Foxx’s office confirmed there was a break-in and “items were taken from some offices.”
