Chicago police said a 12-year-old boy was wounded inside a residence Monday night on the South Side in the North Kenwood neighborhood.
Shortly after 10:05 p.m., the boy was inside a residence in the 4500 block of South Drexel Boulevard when a known person pulled out a weapon and shot him before fleeing the scene, police said.
The boy suffered gunshot wounds to the chest. abdomen and right arm, and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in good condition.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
