St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church: 101 W Burrell Drive — St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church will have a Taste the World event at 5 p.m. Aug. 25 where attendees will be able to join to celebrate the diversity of the parish. St. Joseph Parish: 440 Joliet Road — St. Joseph Parish will have an exhibit of the Eucharistic Miracles from the Vatican International Exhibition Aug. 17 and Aug. 18 after masses. Christ Baptist Church: 4700 E. 7th Ave. — The church is commemorating its 43rd anniversary with a second anointed Sunday morning service at 10 a.m. on Aug. 18. The theme for the occasion is “Planted for a Purpose,” and Pastor James Robinson of St. James Missionary Baptist Church will deliver the morning message on Aug. 18. Holy Angels Cathedral: 640 Tyler St. — The Diocese of Gary will host a Day of Service on Aug. 17 as part of its Summer Eucharistic Revival, starting with a 9 a.m. Mass at the cathedral followed by service activities, including volunteering at the Saints Monica and Luke food pantry, landscaping at diocesan cemeteries, packing donations for area migrant workers, and more. The event will conclude with a 1 p.m. Community Cookout with the Franciscans.

Marquette Park United Methodist Church: 215 N. Grand Blvd. — The church would like to welcome all to worship with us at 11:15 a.m. on Sundays, followed by refreshments in our Fellowship Hall.

Temple Israel: 601 N. Montgomery St. — Temple Israel & Gan Shalom will hold its Annual Rummage Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 6, and from Noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 8. Shop for home decor, electronics, kids and baby items, books, holiday decor, outdoor gear, furniture, garden stuff, clothes, and so much more. All proceeds benefit Temple Israel and the Gan Shalom Community Garden.

Liberty Bible Church: 1155 Sturdy Road — Mothers are invited to join Liberty Bible Church’s Ministry of Motherhood MOM group party beginning at 6 p.m. Sept. 3.
