Whitney’s world

“The Voice of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration” is at 8 p.m. Aug. 30 at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park. Tickets are $40-$55. At 201 Ravinia Park Road. 847-266-5100; ravinia.org.

This is the world premiere of an original tribute concert celebrating the late singer, Whitney Houston. The Chicago Philharmonic presents a production filled with new, original orchestrations of her vast catalog; including “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” “Higher Love,” “I Will Always Love You” and “How Will I Know.” Additionally, the program includes film performances, home videos and rare photos and footage.

Falling for fall

The Frankfort Fall Festival is Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at Breidert Green in Frankfort. Tickets are free. At Kansas and Oak streets. 815-469-3356; frankfortchamber.com/2024-frankfort-fall-festival.

The 56th annual Frankfort Fall Festival returns with more than 300 artisans selling everything from clothing and candles to gourmet foods and seasonal items. There will also be a parade, carnival and live entertainment.

Return to Oz

A Tribute to Ozzfest will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Hobart Art Theatre in Hobart. Tickets are $20. At 230 Main St. 219-942-1670; brickartlive.com/event/tribute-to-ozzfest.

Bands include No More Tears (Ozzy Osbourne tribute), Sandblasted Skin (Pantera tribute), Zero Signal (Fear Factory tribute), Peephole (System of a Down tribute) and Pale Grey Sky (Sepultura tribute). Tickets are buy one, get one free.

Beatles night

Ob-La-Di Beatles Night with Phil Angotti and Friends is at 8 p.m. Aug. 31 at The Venue in Aurora. Tickets are $20-$25. At 21 S. Broadway Ave. 331-212-8490; themusicvenue.org.

The Venue presents a new series featuring Phil Angotti and Friends playing music by The Beatles. Angotti has been a part of the Chicago music scene for 25 years and has released 14 original albums. He has been performing the Beatle Brunch at City Winery for the past three years, appears at the Fest for Beatles Fans and performs Beatles’ covers on Terri Hemmert’s “Breakfast with the Beatles” shows on WXRT 93.1-FM. He also sings with the band Material Issue.

Actor-author event

Actor Max Greenfield (“New Girl,” “The Neighborhood”) will appear at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove. Tickets are $27. At 5021 Highland Ave. 630-963-2665; andersonsbookshop.com/event/max-greenfield.
