1 fatally wounded, 2 others critically injured in separate shootings within minutes of each other Tuesday evening

A male victim was pronounced dead, and two men were critically wounded within minutes of each other Tuesday evening on the South Side, Chicago police said.

About 6:30 p.m., a male victim was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting in the 7100 block of South Yale Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood. The victim, whose exact age was not available, was on the sidewalk when a vehicle drove alongside and fired gunshots toward the victim striking him multiple times, police said.

The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, and the head. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Shortly before 6:55 p.m., a 33-year-old man was wounded in the South Shore neighborhood in the 7800 block of South Colfax Avenue, police said. The man was standing on the street when someone opened fire, striking him to the abdomen. He was taking in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.

Shortly after 7 p.m., a 57-year-old man was in a parked vehicle in the 700 block of South California Avenue when someone shot him to the head and neck, police said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
