Man discovered fatally wounded overnight in West Garfield Park neighborhood

An unidentified man was discovered fatally wounded on the sidewalk overnight on the West Side in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, a man was discovered lying on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the back and chest in the 4800 block of West Adams Street. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
