The Chicago Bulls are signing Josh Primo to an exhibit-10 contract, paving the way for the 21-year-old guard to join the Windy City Bulls.
Primo was drafted No. 12 in the 2021 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs, becoming the youngest player in the league when he debuted in October 2021. The guard has logged only two games in the league since being waived by the Spurs and suspended by the NBA due to an indecent exposure investigation in 2022.
In October 2022, the former team psychologist for the Spurs accused Primo, then 19, of exposing himself to her during private therapy sessions. The psychologist went on to file a civil complaint against Primo and the team, which was settled. In December 2023, the Texas district attorney’s office elected not to bring charges due to insufficient evidence.
The NBA suspended Primo for four games without pay in September 2023 for “conduct detrimental to the league” following an independent investigation. The league investigation confirmed that Primo “engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior by exposing himself to women.”
“Primo maintains that his conduct was not intentional, and the league did not find evidence that he engaged in any sexual or other misconduct apart from these brief exposures,” the league statement read. “Nevertheless, this behavior does not conform to league standards and warrants discipline.”
Primo signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers on the day of his suspension, which was converted to a standard team contract two months later. But Primo barely cracked the Clippers rotation, featuring in only two games last season before he was waived in April.
After an All-Freshman performance in his lone year at Alabama, Primo averaged 5.8 points, 1.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game as a rookie with San Antonio.
