A Waukegan man was killed in a single-car crash in North Chicago, the Lake County Coroner’s Office said Thursday.
Authorities identified the victim as Tywaun Reed, 21.
Police said Reed was involved in a single-car crash near the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and 24th Street at around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.
First responders said his vehicle had left the roadway and sustained major damage. Reed was partially ejected, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy showed he died due to blunt force injuries from the crash, the coroner’s office said.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and North Chicago Police Department are continuing to investigate.
