There’s still time to enter the Tribune’s Holiday Cookie Contest

The clock is ticking but there’s still time to pull out your signature cookie recipe and enter the Tribune’s 38th annual Holiday Cookie Contest. But don’t wait too long: Submissions close Sunday, Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m. and then voting will begin.

After the voting period, Quinton McNair of StruggleBeardBakery, Dina Cimarusti of Sugar Moon and Emily Nejad of Bon Vivant will sample our finalist cookies and pick our top three winners based on flavor, texture, appearance and originality.

Noteworthy this year, we’ll hold an awards ceremony Dec. 4 at Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza, where the market’s namesake, the Christkind, will present our winners with their prizes.

Here’s how to enter:

To enter, submit your original recipe — including a 200-word description of why it’s special and how you developed it — and a photo of the cookies (if you have one) below. (If you don’t see the entry form below, try refreshing the page or click here.)

Bakers can enter until Sunday, Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m. Afterward, readers will vote on their favorite recipes and narrow it down to 12 finalists. Tribune journalists will bake the finalists’ recipes and our guest judges will pick three winners. First place wins $250; second place, $150; third place, $50. Our top three winners will also receive a copy of the Tribune’s book “Holiday Cookies, Second Edition.”
