A Gary man was killed in a crash Friday night as he was exiting off Interstate 65.
A Lake County Coroner’s Office release identified him as 23-year-old Dontez Sparks, who resided in the 1500 block of Tennessee Street. He suffered blunt force injuries as a result of the crash and a toxicology report is pending.
The Coroner’s Office was sent to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, according to the release. Sparks’s vehicle crashed while it was on the exit ramp from I-65 south to 15th Avenue.
