Afternoon Briefing: Couple searches for Chicago’s best crab rangoons

James A. Robinson, an economist and political scientist at the University of Chicago, was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics along with two professors from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology today.

The three received the award for their work on the differences in prosperity among nations, and the role institutions play in economic progress.

Israeli strike in northern Lebanon kills at least 18 people far from Hezbollah’s main strongholds

The strike came a day after a Hezbollah drone attack on an army base in northern Israel killed four soldiers — all of them 19 years old — and severely wounded seven others in the deadliest strike by the militant group since Israel launched its ground invasion of Lebanon nearly two weeks ago.
