While early voting started at some locations in suburban Cook County earlier this month, that will be expanded next week to include more polling sites – including right at Village Hall in Niles and at Park Ridge City Hall.
The additional suburban Cook County early voting locations will operate from Oct. 21 to Nov. 4.
Election Day is Nov. 5.
According to the website of Cook County Clerk Cedric Giles, limited early voting for the county’s suburbs began Oct. 9 at all five suburban circuit courthouses and at 69 W. Washington St. in downtown Chicago.
Nov. 5 is a presidential election, with current Vice President Kamala Harrison on the ballot for the Democrats, and former President Donald Trump the Republican candidate. Additionally, the contest includes candidates for Congress, Illinois House and Senate, county offices and judicial seats.
There are also a number of referendums on the General Election ballot.
Expanded early voting will begin Oct. 21. Officials say voters do not need to provide a reason why they choose to vote early instead of on Election Day.
Ballots are kept secured until they are counted.
“Your ballot will remain secret and securely stored,” officials stated in a village of Morton Grove news release.
Starting Monday, voters will be able to cast their ballots at various locations:
Lincolnwood
Evanston Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. in Evanston
Niles Village Hall, 1000 Civic Center Drive in Niles
Morton Grove
American Legion Memorial Civic Center, 6140 Dempster St. in Morton Grove,
Niles
Niles Village Hall, 1000 Civic Center Drive
Park Ridge
Park Ridge City Hall, 505 Butler Place
A mail ballot drop box will also be available starting Oct. 21. Prior to that date, officials explained, mail ballots have to be sent via U. S. Postal Service.
In addition to the voting sites in these towns, area early voters may also vote at the Skokie Courthouse, 5600 Old Orchard Road in Skokie, and at Oakton College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. in Skokie.
