Chicago police said a man who crashed into a tree overnight in the Jefferson Park neighborhood had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 5700 block of North Central Avenue and found a man about 20 years old in the driver seat of a silver SUV that crashed into a tree.
The man had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
