A 14-year-old boy was shot while he was sitting in a parked vehicle Monday night on the West Side in the Homan Square neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 8:15 p.m., the boy was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 3400 block of West Grenshaw Street when someone opened fire striking him to the left leg, police said.
The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in good condition.
Overnight Monday, a 38-year-old woman also was wounded while sitting in a parked vehicle on the Far South Side in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood, police said.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, the woman was in a parked vehicle in the 11100 block of South Vincennes Avenue when someone in a black SUV opened fire. The woman suffered a gun shot wound to the head, and was dropped off at Roseland Community Hospital where she was listed in fair condition, police said.
No one was in custody for either shooting and detectives were investigating.
