2 paramedics injured in collision Tuesday night involving CFD ambulance in McKinley Park

Several people were taken to area hospitals Tuesday night after an SUV collided with a Chicago Fire Department ambulance at an intersection in the McKinley Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, an ambulance was traveling with its lights and siren activated headed west in the on 35th Street. The ambulance collided with a red SUV headed north on Leavitt Street at the intersection, police said

A man who was driving the SUV and the female occupants were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital as a precaution. The paramedics were taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries, police said.

Police said no citations were pending.
