Known as the “mayor” of Lurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago, 12-year-old Michael Carr of Bloomingdale always found ways to raise the spirits of doctors, nurses, staff and other sick children. He died Thursday night after six years of treatment for an aggressive brain tumor.
