In this 1938 Christmas scene captured by Naperville photographer E.F. Lueben, John and Edwin Eigenbrodt play with Tinkertoys as their parents, Harold and Mildred Eigenbrodt, indulge in a little book reading. According to online records, Harold Eigenbrodt was a professor at Naperville’s North Central College. He died in 1958 at age 60 and is buried in Naperville Cemetery along with his wife, who lived for 35 more years. Mildred became the dean of women at North Central after her husband’s death and would later become an English professor at the American College for Women in Cairo, Egypt. Edwin went on to become a medical doctor and college professor and his brother was a minister and college professor, records show.
