Schererville man gets 14 years for dealing meth with mom: feds

A Schererville man was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison on Tuesday after dealing meth with his mom.

Erik Grant, 32, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Clifford Johnson said in a release.

Grant admitted he sold meth between November 2022 and July 2023.

After Grant was jailed in Porter County in October 2023, his mother Debra Moore took over his operation, Johnson said.

Grant will serve three years on supervised release after his federal prison stint.

Moore signed a plea deal filed in November to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute methamphetamine. A sentencing hearing is not yet set.
