A Wheeling man was killed in a shooting Monday night in Mundelein, according to the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the man, who was 21.
Mundelein police were called at around 7:10 p.m. with reports of a shooting in a parking lot in the 700 block of South Lake Street.
Arriving officers were told that someone drove the victim to a hospital. Police then received word that a shooting victim had been brought to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The person or people who brought the victim to the hospital had left by the time police arrived.
