Winter weather advisory in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m.

National Weather Service officials issued a winter weather advisory Saturday in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. warning of freezing drizzle and icy conditions for portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana.

Morning conditions at O’Hare International Airport is overcast at 31 degrees and father south at Midway conditions are similar, officials said.

There is a 60 percent chance of wintry conditions expected to move into the area about 11 a.m. Saturday when up to one tenth of an inch of ice was expected, officials said. The slippery ordeal was expected to continue until 6 p.m.

Saturday night, there is a 30 percent chance of snow. Highs are expected in the low 30s during the day dropping to the low 20s in the night hours.
