Two men died over the weekend in Lake County in separate, unrelated homicides, authorities said.
There have not been arrests announced in either incident.
A 24-year-old Waukegan man died from a gunshot wound that he apparently sustained during a Sunday incident in Beach Park, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said they were called to the 39300 block of Melbourne Court for a report of gunshots a little after noon on Sunday. A 911 caller reported hearing shots and seeing two men in their mid-20s running from a residence.
Responding officers found shattered glass from a car and shell casings in a driveway. Authorities said they later learned that a man had been dropped off at Vista East Medical Center with a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead a short time after arriving, police said.

In the second incident, a 51-year-old Waukegan man was fatally stabbed Saturday night outside a Waukegan restaurant.
The Lake County Coroner’s office identified him as Joshua Kirkwood. According to the coroner’s office, Waukegan police were called to the 2100 block of North Green Bay Road at around 11:27 p.m. Saturday for a report of a stabbing.
Kirkwood was brought to Vista East Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The coroner’s office conducted an autopsy Monday and said Kirkwood died from multiple stab wounds.
Waukegan police said Monday that they are investigating the incident, but were not yet ready to release additional information.
