A 33-year-old woman was found fatally stabbed multiple times in a residence in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago police said. An Amber Alert was issued shortly after for an 8-year-old boy from the same location, but was canceled after he was found unharmed, authorities said.
Shortly before 7 p.m., a woman was found stabbed in the abdomen and back at a residence in the 7100 block of South Eberhart Avenue. Around 7:30, she was wheeled out of the brick two-flat on a stretcher with an oxygen mask over her face. Paramedics continued giving CPR to the woman as they loaded the stretcher into the ambulance.
She was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was pronounced dead about 10 minutes later.
She was identified as Teone Jones of the same address where she was fatally stabbed, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
An Amber Alert went out Thursday night for an 8-year-old boy taken from the same location but it was canceled after he was located unharmed, Illinois State Police said.
No one was in custody for the fatal stabbing and detectives were investigating.
