Oswego trustees recently approved an ordinance to allow for two new commercial buildings including a grocery store as well as a restaurant and bank at the southeast corner of Route 34 and Kendall Point Drive in the village.
Benderson Development Company, LLC is looking to build a grocery store and another 10,000-square-foot building for a restaurant and bank on a five-acre parcel near a Delta Sonic car wash and gas station at the site.
The site was annexed into the village and rezoned in 2004. The car wash and gas station were approved about five years ago.
The developer’s site plans are for a 12,500-square-foot grocery store on the northeast corner of the site, village officials said. The other building being proposed would go on the western side of the lot, officials said. The developer has indicated that building may be used as a 6,667-square-foot restaurant and a 3,333-square-foot bank.
The property is zoned as a regional business district, which includes uses for a grocery store, general retail, financial institution and restaurant, village officials said.
The site would have three access points, with full access on Route 34, a right-in-only on Kendall Point Drive at the northern end and full access on Kendall Point Drive at the southern end of the property, village officials said.
