Two people were shot inside a garage Monday night in Mount Prospect in what appears to be domestic related, Mount Prospect police said.
Officers responded to a shooting inside an enclosed garage in a condominium building at the 1200 block of West Northwest Highway. Police said that a 63-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man were both shot inside the garage.
Both the woman and the man, who police also said was the suspect, were sent to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. In their last update, police said that the female victim was awake and speaking with detectives.
The 53-year-old man later died and was identified as Michael Work from Shorewood, Wisconsin, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Police said that the scene is contained and that there is no threat to the community.
