Residents in Aurora Township went to the polls Tuesday to vote in a number of Democratic primary races.
Three Aurora Township races featuring Democrats were on the ballot, so only Democratic voters who live in the township could vote in these primaries.
There were no Republican party contests to be voted on in the primary in Aurora Township.
The Democratic contests in Aurora Township included races for clerk between Adam Pauley and Angela Thomas and highway commissioner between incumbent Jason Owens and Donald Ishmael.
According to unofficial final results Tuesday in the race for clerk, Thomas had 71.9% of the vote, to 28.1% for Pauley.
In the contest for highway commissioner, according to unofficial final results Tuesday, Owens had 70.9% of the vote to 29.0% for Ishmael.
The winners in the races move on to the April 1 general election.
There was also a contested race for Aurora Township Board in the Democratic primary, with voters choosing four candidates to move on to the general election.
Running in the primary were Bonnie Lee Kunkel, incumbent Samuel Nunez, Jerria Donelson, incumbent Dolores Hicks, Mansa Latham Williams, Danny Taylor and Sherry Spears.
According to unofficial results Tuesday, Hicks had 19.6% of the vote, Spears 17.5%, Kunkel 17.1%, Nunez 15.5%, Taylor 11.4%, Donelson 11.2% and Williams 7.3%.
The top four vote-getters move on to the April 1 election.
