A portion of Riverside Avenue in St. Charles is set to close until early May for construction work, the city announced in a news release on Tuesday.
Beginning March 3, the portion of Riverside Avenue from Division Street to South Sixth Avenue in St. Charles will be closed to through traffic, the release said. Residents who live on the street will continue to have local access.
Moore Avenue between Riverside Avenue and South Second Place, along with the Fox River Trail crossing at Moore Avenue, will also be closed because of the construction, the news release said.
The closure is for water main construction and replacing the culvert that brings water from the Seventh Avenue Creek under Riverside Avenue with a larger one, the city said, to reduce flooding from the creek. The project will also realign the Fox River Trail crossing, the release said.
