Police issue missing alert on 5-year-old girl taken by biological mother on West Side

A 5-year-old girl has been missing since mid-February after she was picked up from school by her biological mother without her grandmother’s consent in the Austin neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Terianna Miller was last seen Feb. 12 by her custodial grandmother at noon that day when she dropped her off at school in the 500 block of Lavergne Avenue, police said.

Officials said Terianna was abducted by her biological mother when she picked her up from school without her grandmother’s consent.

Police said the mother is refusing to return the girl and has stopped taking the girl to school. The whereabouts of the girl and her mother are unknown, police said.

The girl was last seen wearing a school uniform of a light blue polo shirt with dark blue pants. She was described by police as Black with a medium brown complexion with black hair and brown eyes. She is 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information on the girl’s or the mother’s location was asked to contact police.
