A Gurnee man was killed Tuesday night in a Waukegan shooting, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities identified the victim as Jorge Rogel, 22. He was killed by a gunshot wound to the head, according to preliminary autopsy results.
According to police, they were called to the 1500 block of Washington Street at around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Rogel.
He was brought to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he died Wednesday night, the coroner’s office said. An autopsy was performed on Thursday.
Waukegan police have not released any additional details of the incident.
