Chicago Sky will host Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever at the United Center for 2 historic games this summer

Women’s basketball is — finally — coming to the United Center.

The Chicago Sky will host the Indiana Fever at the Bulls and Blackhawks arena for two games this summer. The first will take place June 7 at 7 p.m., and the second is on July 26 at 2 p.m.

It’s a historic development for the Sky and Bulls. The United Center never has hosted a WNBA game in the Sky’s first 19 seasons. And the games will offer a larger platform for one of the league’s most anticipated matchups: the Sky’s Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso versus the Fever’s Caitlin Clark.

The United Center has a capacity of 20,917 for basketball games, nearly double that of the Sky’s home at Wintrust Arena (10,387). Friday’s announcement positions the Sky to break their attendance record of 16,444, set in 2016 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

“Given the explosive growth in the WNBA, we now have a first-ever opportunity to invite more fans to experience this matchup at a larger venue of the United Center,” Sky CEO and President Adam Fox said in a statement. “Chicago Sky fans have consistently shown up for the team and the city, and we want to reward their passion and dedication by bringing this excitement to an expanded capacity.”

The Sky said season ticket holders will receive “in-kind seat locations at the United Center based on vantage points, rows and other factors.” However, season ticket holders had yet to receive official notice of the change from their ticketing representatives as of Friday afternoon.

Last year’s games against the Fever at Wintrust were almost immediate sellouts — and the secondary market boomed as a result, with tickets soaring to an average of $385 in the week leading up to the teams’ second meeting in Chicago in August.

The Fever took the season series 3-1 last year, winning both of their home games and the second matchup in Chicago. The teams will face off five times in 2025, including the Sky’s season opener May 17 in Indianapolis.

Tickets for both games go on sale at 11 a.m. March 11 on Ticketmaster and at the Wintrust Arena and United Center box offices.
