U.S. Rep. Bill Foster to hold town hall meeting Tuesday

U.S. Rep. Bill Foster, D-Naperville, is hosting an in-person town hall meeting from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Benedictine University, 5700 College Road, Lisle.

The event will be held in the university’s Goodwin Hall Auditorium, with parking available in the garage south of Goodwin Hall. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Following Foster’s presentation, a question-and-answer session will follow, a news release said.

Ordering in city’s annual Arbor Day tree sale begins Monday

Online tree orders will open at 8 a.m. Monday, March 17, for Naperville’s annual Arbor Day tree sale.

Orders will be taken until 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 or all trees are sold, whichever comes first, a news release said.

Trees must be picked up from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Public Works Service Center, 180 Fort Hill Drive.

The city is offering 378 trees for purchase, including various maples, oaks and elms, during the four-week sale. About 30 different species will be offered at a cost of between $45 and $150 each, officials said.

Customers will be limited to six trees. To view the trees available for purchase, go to www.naperville.il.us/2025-tree-sale.

The city is also offering rain barrels and composters through a partnership with the Conservation Foundation and Upcycle Products. Mail-in orders are due April 10 and online orders are due by April 14 at upcycle-products.com/il-programs/nprv.

Residents can pick up their orders April 19 at the public works center. A portion of the sales will be donated to the Conservation Foundation in Naperville.

Senior Task Force to hold March 20 city candidates forum

The Naperville Senior Task Force is hosting a forum featuring candidates for Naperville City Council running in the April 1 election.

It will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

During the event, candidates will respond to four rounds of questions as well as some rapid-fire questions posed by the moderator. Questions will not be taken from the audience during the event.

A meet-and-greet will be held in the municipal center lobby will be available before and after the forum for residents to meet the candidates.

Four four-year terms are up for election. The candidates running are Benjamin “Benny” White, Mary Gibson, Jennifer Bruzan Taylor, Ian Holzhauer, Derek McDaniel, Meghna Bansal, Ashfaq Syed and Nag Jaiswal.
