Sophomore guard Jaxson Davis scored a game-high 27 points to lead Warren to an impressive 66-49 win against Rich Township in the Class 4A state semifinals at the State Farm Center in Champaign on Friday night.
Davis made 9 of 17 shots and 7 of 9 free throws and also had five rebounds, two assists and seven steals for the Blue Devils (26-10), who will play Benet (32-5) in the state championship game at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Senior guard Javerion Banks added 14 points and six rebounds for Warren, and senior guard Jack Wolf had 10 points and six rebounds.
Junior guard Jayden Williams led Rich Township (26-9) with 18 points.
Warren will make its third appearance in a state final, having lost in 1999 and 2011.
