A former Zion resident was killed Saturday night when the car in which she was riding ran into another vehicle.
Judith Kidder, 68, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead after the collision near the Russell Road and Green Bay Road intersection in Zion, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
According to authorities, the car in which Kidder was riding was northbound on Green Bay at about 10:45 p.m. when it rear-ended another vehicle that was headed north. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident, police said.
Kidder was brought to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room, authorities said.
An autopsy determined that she died from blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said.
Information about others involved in the crash was not immediately available. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
