Carol Stream resident Chuck Drungelo was given a less than 10% chance to survive as he battled COVID-19 in April 2020, at one point spending 19 days medically paralyzed and on artificial life support. Some effects of the illness continue to linger five years later, but “I’m alive,” he said.
