A 30-year-old woman was in critical condition after gunfire pierced through a window Wednesday night in the South Chicago neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before midnight Wednesday officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 8800 block of South Burley Avenue where a bullet pierced through a window striking a 30-year-old woman.
The woman had suffered a wound to the left thigh and was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
