Officers in good condition after squad car was struck on South Side

Two police officers were listed in good condition after their squad car was struck overnight in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, officals said.

Shortly before 12:15 a.m., a police squad car was headed north on Wentworth Avenue with its emergency lights and equipment activated when it was struck by a gray sedan that was headed west on 69th Street, police said.

The officers were taken to a local hospital for observation and were listed in good condition, police said. The driver of the sedan, a 34-year-old man, refused medical help at the scene.
