Several victims were attacked with a sharp object overnight during a fight between two groups in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after midnight, officers responded to a call of multiple people stabbed in the 6200 block of South Kedzie Avenue. When they arrived at the scene, officers learned there was an argument between two groups that turned physical when a 29-year-old woman pulled out a sharp object and attacked several prople, police said. A second woman, 47, hit people with a closed fist, police said.
A 47-year-old man suffered a puncture wound to the left eye and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in critical condition. A 31-year-old man suffered a laceration to the face and was taken to the same hospital and listed in fair condition. A 37-year-old man suffered a puncture wound to the left hand and was taken to UChicago Medicine and listed in fair condition. A 36-year-old man suffered lacerations to the left side of the head and back but refused medical treatment. A female suffered an eye irritation from a sprayed substance and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said. Another woman suffered suffered a laceration to the forehead but refused medical treatment.
Two women were arrested, and charges were pending.
