Stanley Jenczyk of Niles is a junior board member of the Chicago chapter of American Veterans for Equal Rights. It’s a nonprofit veterans service organization advocating for full and equal rights for all members of the U.S. Armed Forces — particularly LGBTQ soldiers. Jenczyk was instrumental in getting monuments built honoring LGBTQ military veterans in Chicago and at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
