Most community colleges in the Chicago area are encouraging — not requiring — vaccinations, despite guidelines from the Illinois Board of Higher Education urging schools to make COVID-19 shots mandatory. Students at College of DuPage, however, must be vaccinated before in-person or hybrid classes begin next spring.
