Hey Nonny to Host Gallery of Work From Legendary Rock Photographer Jim Summaria

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — Hey Nonny, the music venue in Arlington Heights, will host a gallery of work from long-time rock photographer Jim Summaria. The event kicks off with an art opening happy hour on Friday, Sept. 10.Summaria, a lifelong Chicago-area resident, began his career with Chicago rock concert promoter Flip Side Productions at the age of 19. He has photographed virtually every top name in rock music, including Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Led Zeppelin, B.B. King, Judy Collins, Aerosmith and more.”Our mission is to bring exceptional music to our community,” said Hey Nonny co-owner Chip Brooks. “Along with that is sharing the legacy of local music history and few individuals have had a front-row seat the way Jim Summaria has. We are thrilled to share some of his work at Hey Nonny.”Summaria remains active in capturing photos from concerts but has also built an award-winning career as a commercial photographer. Many of his finest rock ‘n’ roll images have been used in special projects by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Grammy Awards, the Smithsonian Institute and the Torquay Museum in England. His book of rock photos, “Classic Rock: Photos from Yesterday and Today,” can be found online.
