The Cook County sheriff’s office has become expert in tracking down missing people, in part, through its work to identifty previously unknown victims of serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Now they’re putting that expertise to work with the Missing Persons Project, a new initiative to locate people who’ve gone missing for three years or longer.
