Lake County State’s Attorney Mike Nerheim and Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper were trailing their opponents by thousands of votes Monday, but both said they had not conceded defeat with more than 40,000 ballots left to be counted. “I wish the numbers were going in a different direction, but it’s not over yet,” Nerheim said.
