All aboard the train to Pride

Rainbows were visible all along the South Shore Line Sunday morning, from tutus and jewelry to a conductor’s suspenders.

South Shore Line trains had extended capacity in preparation for the crowds set to celebrate at the Chicago Pride Parade.

Angie Gibbons and her friends visiting from Colombia, Mago Candanoza and Enrique Abello, were embarking on their first Pride to support Gibbons’s best friend, Luciano Labrador.

“I’m happy to see people in all these colors and have the support of my friends,” said Labrador, who attended New York City’s Pride earlier this month and Miami’s Pride last year. “In Colombia, it’s not easy (to be LGBTQ) because it’s a very conservative country.”
