Democratic lawmakers this week voted to dedicate $2.7 billion toward filling a $4.5 billion pandemic-driven hole in the fund that pays the unemployment claims of laid off Illinoisans. Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the bill Friday. The reaction was unsurprisingly partisan.
