Another man charged in connection with February Beach Park alleged murder

Another man has been charged in connection with the February alleged murder of a man in Beach Park, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Amil Little, 25, of the 12000 block of West Wakefield Drive in Beach Park, was arrested this week on a weapons charge. The arrest came in the investigation of the alleged murder of Tavontee Fox, 24, of Waukegan.

Fox was fatally shot on Feb. 9 in Beach Park.

Police said Fox and another man had arranged to meet a Waukegan man named Cyncere Tillman that day in the 39300 block of Melbourne Court in Beach Park.

At the meeting, an argument erupted and Tillman allegedly began firing a gun into the car carrying Fox and the other man. Fox was reportedly struck by gunfire, and the driver of the car brought him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Tillman was later charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Police alleged Little was at the scene of the homicide. A subsequent investigation showed that he was unlawfully in possession of ammunition, and he was taken into custody Wednesday at a residence in Zion, police said.
