An Antioch woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to an armed robbery charge in the 2022 shooting death of a man in what authorities have described as a drug hold-up.
Hailey Miller, 24, formerly of the 1000 block of Main Street, entered the plea in the death of Robbie Dickerson of Racine, Wisconsin, who was 42 when he was fatally shot on Sept. 8, 2022.
Miller and her boyfriend, Johnathan Skroko of South Elgin, had been charged with first-degree murder in the case.
According to authorities, the couple lured Dickerson to Miller’s apartment in order to buy drugs from him, but actually planned to rob him.
When Dickerson entered the apartment, Skroko confronted him while armed with a shotgun, authorities said. He then shot Dickerson, according to police.
Skroko then went outside to Dickerson’s car and threatened his girlfriend, police said. The woman drove to a gas station and called the police.
Under the terms of her plea deal, Miller must testify at Skroko’s trial, which is scheduled for June. Miller will probably not be sentenced until after Skroko’s case concludes, officials said.
