The Urban Stream Research Center, typically closed to the public, was established in 2012 as part of a superfund project to restore portions of the West Branch DuPage River and Cress Creek. Today, the center manages county lakes and fisheries, monitors its streams and rivers, and runs a robust program to recover essential species.
